Newton Country Day School
Newton, MA
Since 1880, Newton Country Day has educated girls to be strong leaders in a global society. The school’s mission is rooted in the vision of St. Madeleine Sophie Barat, who in the 1800s established schools of the Sacred Heart to prepare women with the courage and confidence to transform the world. Traditional yet innovative, the school offers a program for young women of all faiths in grades 5-12, with courses through the AP level and a focus on project-based learning. Dedicated faculty promote a dynamic learning atmosphere that encourages each girl to discover and cultivate her talents and character. Through the international Network of Sacred Heart schools, students take advantage of academic exchanges across five continents, developing a school-wide global perspective. Rigorous academics, the arts, and competitive athletics build a vibrant school community, while social justice and service are essential to enrich each student’s experience. Girls are accepted to the most competitive colleges and universities with the goal of living meaningful and joyful lives.
