St. Mark’s School in Southborough, MA, seeks an assistant varsity football coach. This part-time position starts in late August and ends in mid-November. St. Mark’s enjoys a rich history in the sport of football and is a member of the Independent School League. The ideal candidate should possess an extensive understanding of football’s tactical aspects, coaching experience, and a passion for helping teams and student-athletes reach their full potential both on and off the field.

Qualifications:

• Candidates should have playing experience and coaching experience at the high school and/or college level.
• Oversee a position group on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.
• Experience and knowledge to potentially serve as an offensive or defensive coordinator, at the head coach’s discretion.
• Ability to positively motivate, inspire, and serve as a role model to student-athletes
• Attract and recruit student-athletes and families to St. Mark’s who will contribute to the school’s overall educational program.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a Monday-to-Saturday practice/game schedule, including travel to away opponents.
• Assist with organizing and conducting practices that foster development and preparation.
• Build a strong team culture that values leadership and service.

Compensation:

$3,000-$5,000, commensurate with experience.
