Windham Woods School is seeking a qualified, enthusiastic Upper School Science Teacher to join our Upper School team. The position includes teaching science courses to students in grades 9–12, including Biology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, and/or Physical Science, depending on the candidate’s background and experience.

Responsibilities:

– Teach high school Science courses (e.g., Biology, Environmental Science, Physical Science)
– Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs
– Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
– Build strong relationships with students and families
– Collaborate with colleagues to support student growth and program development
– Incorporate experiential and outdoor learning into the curriculum
– Assess student progress and communicate effectively with families and staff

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field required
– Master’s degree preferred; Special Education background strongly valued
– Experience teaching high school Science preferred
– Strong content knowledge in one or more scientific disciplines (e.g., Biology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or Physics)
– Teaching certification/licensure preferred; teaching experience strongly preferred
– Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
– Proven ability to engage and support diverse learners, with a strong emphasis on relationship-building
