Senior Associate Director of Admissions

Essential Job Functions:
- Partner with the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management to develop and execute annual enrollment, recruitment, and yield strategies aligned with institutional priorities.
- Analyze admissions data and trends to monitor progress toward enrollment, demographic, and quality goals, develop strategic plans, and monitor key performance indicators.
- Serves as a lead strategist for large-scale recruitment and yield events for prospective and admitted students.
- Provides strategic oversight of lead management and inquiry to application conversion efforts across the school. Focus on building and maintaining a strong top-of-funnel data-informed outreach, funnel optimization, and performance tracking refinement.
- Develops and refines lead generation and nurturing strategies that support enrollment growth.
- Designs and implements recruitment, marketing, and outreach initiatives, tailored to the unique needs of the various market segments (geographic, divisional, etc).
- Supports the Director by offering oversight of daily admissions operations, including CRM systems (e.g., Ravenna, Finalsite), and improves workflows for applications, communications, and targeted outreach
- Leads select admissions committees; reviews and evaluates applications; interviews prospective students and families.
- Manage and mentor admissions counselors and Enrollment Office staff, training, and professional development.
- Collaborate with academic leaders, College Counseling, program directors, and faculty to support a cohesive approach to recruitment and academic counseling.
- Works closely with marketing, IT, and other departments to ensure the school’s outreach strategies are consistent with the school’s branding.
- Represent the School at fairs, events, and outreach programs; engage actively in the life of the School.
- Supports the daily operation and mentorship of the Admissions Office and team
- Engages in the life of the school, including serving as an advisor and an athletic coach
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of admission/enrollment experience, preferably in an independent school or college setting; Master’s degree preferred.
- Demonstrated success in strategic planning, data-informed decision-making, and enrollment operations.
- Supervisory and mentoring experience.
- Successful experience in building, maintaining, and growing relationships with sending schools, placement consultants, and other organizations/community groups.
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written, non-verbal) to build trust among constituencies
- Demonstrated strength in collecting, analyzing, presenting, and leveraging admission/enrollment and other related data utilizing technology platforms.
- Proven ability to meaningfully engage and build relationships with prospective and current families/students, colleagues, alumni/ae and other stakeholders; experience working with international students preferred.
- Exceptional discretion, sensitivity, and commitment to confidentiality, privacy, and the dignity of all community members
- Proficiency or working knowledge using Microsoft Office (including Excel), PowerBi, HubSpot, and CRM systems (e.g., Ravenna, Finalsite).
- Proven track record as a highly collaborative individual in a team-based environment with strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills both in person and online.
- Ability to visualize, plan, and execute long-term projects.
- Experience leading, coordinating, and supporting colleagues in a team-based environment.

Requirements:
This job requires one to lift, carry, push, and/or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 20pounds as well as the ability to stand, sit, walk, and effective use of extremities to reach, hold, touch, push, pull, lift, and carry. The incumbent must also effectively communicate (oral, written, and nonverbal) with others. This job typically requires 30% sitting, 20% walking, and 50% standing and is performed under minimal temperature variations in a generally hazard-free environment. Depending on the classroom assignment, this role may require one to relocate classrooms throughout the day and require ascending and descending stairs. Incumbents will occasionally be required to work extended hours, including after school, during evenings, and on weekends.
Dexter Southfield’s 36-acre campus is composed of several buildings, playing fields, and outdoor learning spaces, which are accessible via internal and external walkways, stairs, nature paths, hills, and uneven terrain. This position requires one to transfer between these areas in all weather conditions.
