An independent school for girls in grades 6-12, inspired by the teachings of the Catholic Church, Montrose School was founded in 1979 and is located on a 14.5 acre campus in downtown Medfield, 17 miles southwest of Boston. Montrose School attracts a talented and growing student population from 50 towns and communities.
Montrose School seeks to appoint experienced and innovative middle and upper school science teachers, including one with AP Physics knowledge, for our collegial and robust Science Department. The successful candidate will be an accomplished teacher of science bringing passion and enthusiasm not only for the subject matter but for coaching adolescent girls to acquire and achieve a high level of proficiency in logical scientific inquiry and investigation while fostering a growth mindset. Compelling applicants will have significant coursework in a relevant subject (a master’s degree is preferred, but not required), an interest in curriculum development, a demonstrated interest and enthusiasm for connecting girls with opportunities for exploration of science-related professional study, an appreciation for an all-girls’ education, and teaching experience of three years or more is preferred. Our teachers are mentors to individual students and club leaders, with some engaged in coaching.
