Title:  School Counselor for Grades 7 & 8

Salary Range:   $57,000 – $122,000

Xaverian is an independent Catholic school for boys in grades 7-12, sponsored by the Xaverian
Brothers. Located in Westwood, Massachusetts, this college-prep school welcomes students
from approximately 90 communities across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Xaverian was
established in 1963 and presently enrolls over 960 students.

General Expectations: Xaverian is seeking applications for a full-time Middle School
Counselor. Ideal applicants will have demonstrated the ability to counsel students dealing with
personal, academic, developmental, and wellness issues. The selected candidate will serve as
a member of the school’s counseling team while maintaining a primary caseload of middle
school students (grades 7 and 8). They will collaborate closely with fellow counselors, faculty
members, and administrators to support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth. The
counselor will also partner with parents through individual communication and various parent
education programs. In addition to providing direct support to middle school students, the
successful candidate will contribute to the overall work of the counseling department and may
assist with department-wide initiatives, including counseling programming, student support
services, and other responsibilities as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with adolescents and a willingness to be
actively involved in the school community beyond the school day. Candidates should possess a
master’s degree in counseling or a related field, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills,
and enthusiasm for the school’s mission as a Catholic and Xaverian Brothers Sponsored
School.
