Xaverian is an independent Catholic school for boys in grades 7-12, sponsored by the Xaverian
Brothers. Located in Westwood, Massachusetts, this college-prep school welcomes students
from approximately 90 communities across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Xaverian was
established in 1963 and presently enrolls over 980 students.

General Expectations: Xaverian is seeking applications for a full-time middle school English
teacher. The applicant will have demonstrated content knowledge and pedagogic skill relative to
teaching English. A history of collaborating with other educators, as well as the ability to
maintain and adapt existing curricula to meet the ever-changing needs of students is required.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable using a variety of pedagogical and assessment
tools, have a passion for educating young men, and become involved in the school community
beyond the classroom setting. Preferred candidates should have a college degree in English,
excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and an enthusiasm for the school’s mission as
a Catholic and Xaverian Brothers Sponsored School.
