Rocky Hill Country Day School seeks a highly qualified Kindergarten teacher.

Teachers are expected to:

  • engage in inquiry-based pedagogy, including project-based learning and other experiential approaches, and embed mindfulness practices into the classroom experience. Knowledge of these approaches is beneficial, and a willingness to develop them is essential
  • foster a classroom culture that values collaboration, curiosity, and mutual respect
  • differentiate classroom instruction to address varied learning profiles
  • develop healthy, supportive relationships with students and their families
  • eagerly collaborate with RHCD community members
  • communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues and families
  • possess a commitment to equity, belonging, and professional growth

We are looking for a Kindergarten Teacher who is confident in their teaching experience and able to:

  • instruct Kindergarten students using developmentally appropriate methods
  • design engaging lessons that meet the needs of a myriad of learners
  • implement best practices in teaching Early Childhood students in social-emotional learning, literacy, math, and social studies that might include Responsive Classroom, Orton Gillingham, Learning without Tears, and SFUSD Math

Other additional responsibilities include:

  • attendance of professional growth opportunities and faculty meetings
  • participation in school-wide events and committees
  • any additional duties as assigned by the Division Head

Qualifications and requirements include

  • a bachelor’s degree with a master’s preferred
  • experience in education with Early Childhood students
  • excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • experience and confidence with technology
