Pingree School seeks an experienced Girls Varsity Lacrosse Head Coach to join our Athletics Department for the Spring 2025 season. The Varsity Girls Lacrosse team competes in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council and plays a competitive league and non-league schedule.
The Head Coach will direct and coordinate all aspects of the Girls Varsity Lacrosse program in concert with Pingree’s mission and values. Key responsibilities include preparing for and running daily practices, game day coaching, traveling to and from away games, attending department and league meetings, responding to requests from the media and prospective student-athletes, supporting student-athletes in the college admission process, attracting student-athletes to Pingree, supervising assistant coaches and handling administrative tasks as needed. The successful coach will communicate regularly with students and families and will be committed to working with and developing high school students within a day school committed to promoting health and wellness, citizenship, teamwork, and sportsmanship. This is a part-time seasonal position.
Qualification and skills required for this position:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- Ability to teach high-level lacrosse is required, including strong technical knowledge of girls’ lacrosse
- A minimum of 3-5 years of coaching and collegiate playing experience preferred
- Passion for working with and developing high school student-athletes
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to working collegially in a diverse community and communicating effectively with a diverse population
- Must have a valid driver’s license and successfully complete a background check in order to work with minors
- Evening and weekend hours are required, as well as off-season support for the program
