Extended Day Program (EDP) Teacher

We are seeking an energetic and creative educator to teach in our after-school Extended Day Program (EDP). Our EDP teachers work together to provide a warm and caring community environment for our students, facilitating activities such as arts and crafts, outdoor play, and homework. Ideal candidates will have experience working with children across PreK and middle school, demonstrate patience within the dynamic environment of after school care, model care and support for students in keeping with our mission, and be able to supervise responsibly in alignment with the school’s philosophy on classroom management.

This is a part-time position Monday through Friday during the school year with hours of 2:00-6:00 p.m.

Primary Responsibilities

Work with the Director of Extended Day Programs and Camp Operations Director to:

• Plan activities and after school classes for children from PreK through Grade 8
• Maintain accurate registration and attendance records
• Manage the logistics of students who ride our daily 4:30pm school bus
• Facilitate arts and crafts, outdoor play, and other enrichment activities
• Supervise students throughout the duration of the program

Essential Skills:

• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to respond effectively and efficiently in an emergency
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion
• Experience working with children between the ages of 4 and 14
• Experience with implementing developmentally appropriate and creative activities to young children
