Position Overview: Thetford Academy seeks a strategic, mission-driven Director of Finance who will serve as the school’s chief financial leader and a key partner to the Head of School and Board of Trustees. This highly visible role blends strategic leadership with hands-on operational oversight. The Director will lead all financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, audit, and compliance, while contributing to long-term financial sustainability and institutional planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and audit
• Manage cash flow, investments, and internal controls
• Serve as liaison to the Board Finance Committee and present financial reports
• Support payroll, benefits, and workforce planning with HR
• Provide financial analysis to support strategic decision making
• Strengthen financial systems, policies, and procedures
• Lead and support a small, collaborative finance team
• Ensure compliance with regulations and best practices
