The mission of Brooks School is to provide the most meaningful educational experience our students will have in their lives. Established in 1926 in the town of North Andover, Brooks provides an all-gender, college preparatory program for 350 students on a 270-acre campus overlooking Lake Cochichewick. Brooks seeks a dynamic, enthusiastic and confident Assistant Certified Athletic Trainer for the 2026-2027 academic year.

 

Essential Functions:

 

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working closely with Head Certified Athletic Trainer providing the prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of injuries sustained by student-athletes at Brooks School. This includes emergency acute care, evaluation referral, and modality application.

 

  • Participate fully in a wellness-centered approach to the prevention, evaluation, and treatment of athletic injuries:
    • Refer injuries to the appropriate medical facilities.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of injuries and treatments, in collaboration with Head Certified Athletic Trainer, school consulting physicians and the Director of the Health Center.
    • Communication with parents, when appropriate.

 

  • Provide athletic training coverage and services at all home athletic contests, and travel with teams when necessary.
  • Promote safe and appropriate practice and competition environments.
  • Serve as an effective and positive role model for student-athletes.
  • Schedule and confirm all athletic contests by season under the guidance of the Director of Athletics.
  • Schedule all transportation for athletic teams each season.
  • Work with appropriate assignors to ensure proper coverage of officials for each contest.
  • Perform all duties with professionalism, which includes relating to others in a courteous, cooperative, sensitive, and congenial manner.
  • Assist the Director of Athletics and Head Athletic trainer with other responsibilities as requested.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum B.S. in athletic training, or comparable degree in health-related field; M.S. preferred
  • Current NATA BOC Certification, Massachusetts State Licensure
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to move freely around a large campus, and between and among various athletic venues

TRAVEL: This role requires frequent travel to attend athletic contests
