Independent School Art Instructors Association

For over one hundred years Arts educators have been meeting annually to discuss common practices in uncommon institutions. Typically over the course of our weekend conference we will enjoy the opportunity to meet both formally and informally with like-minded colleagues, with elements entailing: member presentations about best practices — the heart of the conference, a cocktail meet-and-greet session, a dinner and keynote presentation from industry leaders; and visits to art institutions, galleries and museums.

Member presentation topics range from successful assignments, studio practices, tools of the trade, technology, showcasing student talent, and so much more.

The 2027 ISAIA Conference begins with an opt-in event at the Institute of Contemporary Art – Boston on Friday night 1/22/2027 6pm to 9pm.

The conference-proper is sponsored by the Lesley University School of Art + Design on Saturday 1/23/2027, beginning @ 9am with Registration and continental breakfast, followed by member presentations 9:30am to 12noon, and a presentation and tour of LUCAD 12 to 1pm.  Afternoon events include a visit to the Harvard Art Museums or other Boston-area galleries or museums.  Participants reconvene at LUCAD for a cocktail reception 5 to 6pm, followed by a dinner and keynote speaker that evening.
