AISNE Insight | 501(c)(3) Status Alert for Independent Schools
The proposed rule has a significant impact on the programs and services that independent schools offer—and could potentially jeopardize a school’s tax-exempt status.
We will be joined by Emily Nash and Maddy Rodriguez, co-chairs of the education practice group at Foley Hoag law firm, to discuss what AISNE member schools need to know.
We will cover some of the basic legal principles and enforcement priorities guiding the federal government’s civil rights compliance initiatives. Emily and Maddie will also explain what the proposed rule leave untouched, including permissible uses of race-neutral criteria. Lastly, we will discuss next steps you can take this fiscal school year to review policies, programs, and third-party partnerships and prepare for potential compliance obligations.
AISNE recommends all member schools attend this vital info session, which is designed for Heads of School, in-house legal counsel, and chief business officers.
Special thanks to Foley Hoag for providing this session.
