Beaver Country Day School is an independent day school serving 460 students in grades 6-12, located in Chestnut Hill, just outside of Boston. Campaign Manager or Director
Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy & Engagement, the Campaign Manager or Director will work closely with leadership volunteers, donors, and colleagues to help build data-informed systems, leverage research and insights creatively, and design compelling prospect plans that lead to meaningful philanthropic relationships for Beaver. This position is ideal for an energetic and highly organized professional who enjoys external relationship building, project management, collaborating with others to bring ideas to life, and crushing fundraising goals. The manager/director will help shape and support efforts to drive giving to support Beaver’s institutional goals for capital giving while gaining experience in campaign planning, parent and alumni volunteer engagement, and frontline fundraising.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Support campaign planning and readiness efforts in partnership with the Director of Philanthropy & Engagement
  • Conduct prospect research and help identify leadership giving opportunities
  • Prepare donor briefings, proposals, and stewardship materials
  • Support campaign volunteers and committee members through meeting preparation and follow-up
  • Coordinate campaign timelines, projects, and action plans
  • Partner with colleagues across the school to support fundraising and engagement priorities
  • Track and manage prospect activity and moves management strategies
  • Design data-informed and personalized donor stewardship and recognition efforts
  • Manage and cultivate a small portfolio of prospects
  • Leverage institutional events and participate fully in the life of the Beaver community, including some evening or weekend activities (local or regional)
  • Support additional Philanthropy & Engagement initiatives and special projects as needed

Desired Qualifications

  • Three to five years of experience in fundraising, education, executive search, nonprofit management, communications, or related fields
  • Exceptional organizational skills, flexibility of thinking, curiosity, open-mindedness, and a collaborative approach
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on details independently
  • High energy, optimism, and a willingness to learn
  • Frontline fundraising experience is a plus (not required)
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • An understanding of independent schools and enthusiasm for Beaver’s mission
  • Commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement
  • Experience with diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging practices and commitment to ongoing growth in this area
