Social Studies Teacher – Special Education

Windham Woods School is seeking a qualified, enthusiastic High School Social Studies Teacher to join our Upper School team. The position includes teaching courses in U.S. History and World History to students in grades 9–12.

Responsibilities:
– Teach high school Social Studies courses, including U.S. History and World History
– Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs
– Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
– Build strong relationships with students and families
– Collaborate with colleagues to support student growth and program development
– Incorporate experiential and outdoor learning into the curriculum
– Assess student progress and communicate effectively with families and staff
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in History, Social Studies, Education, or a related field required
– Master’s degree preferred; Special Education background strongly valued
– Experience teaching high school Social Studies preferred
– Strong content knowledge in U.S. and World History
– Teaching certification/licensure preferred; teaching experience strongly preferred
– Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
– Proven ability to engage and support diverse learners, with a strong emphasis on relationship-building
