Oliverian School is an alternative, college-preparatory boarding high school for bright adolescents who have not felt at home in traditional settings. Our supportive academic and student-life program helps students embrace their unique identity, purpose, and voice so that they can contribute to any situation and find their place the world.

Oliverian seeks a Dorm Parent & Adventure Teacher to live in the dorm, teaching and modeling the development of independent living skills, and also to teach outdoor adventure classes and lead adventure trips.

Specific areas of function will include:

• Living in the dormitory with the students and providing supervision, support, and programming each weekday afternoon and evening and every fourth
• Building developmental relationships with each student in the dorm, with an individualized focus on independent living skills, healthy social engagement, and productive use of free time.
• Teaching adventure classes to students with a wide range of experience and skill, as well as leading a variety of adventure experiences outside of class, such as hiking, skiing, backpacking, paddling, climbing, and biking.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelors degree or higher and experience in education or youth development. Valid driver’s license required.
