Assistant Director of Athletics

Beaver Country Day School is an independent day school serving 460 students in grades 6-12, and located in Chestnut Hill, just outside of Boston. Founded in 1920 and propelled by our progressive roots, our goal is to expand the nature of school. Key Functions and Responsibilities:
- Schedule contests for all Middle School and Upper School interscholastic teams, and manage all scheduling materials and documents
- Secure and manage officials and transportation
- Manage contest confirmations and adjustments (games, dates, locations, time, officials, and buses)
- Coordinate and collaborate with other schools’ scheduling coordinators
- Serve as administrator-on-site for selected games and contests
- Coordinate and continue developing leadership programming for student-athletes, and serve as advisor for the Student-Athlete Leadership Team (SALT)
- Assist with internal management of athletic department documents, website, etc.
- Assist with interviewing and hiring seasonal coaches
- Assist with mentoring, evaluating, observing, and providing feedback to seasonal coaches
- Assist with planning of awards nights, coaches’ meetings, and other special events
- Assist with planning and executing coach and captain development and leadership programs
- Help to identify opportunities and solutions to elevate the athletic program
- Be instrumental in integrating BVR athletics into the fabric of the school
- Inspire and motivate the BVR community to support and cheer on our students and teams
Other Roles:
- Capture social media content / collaborate with Marketing and Communications
- Attend league, NEPSAC, and internal meetings, as well as admissions events and school events as needed
- Assist with practice and game day setups and breakdowns as needed
- Assist AD with additional tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree preferred
- Demonstrated understanding of independent schools, their unique culture, and opportunities and challenges
- Experience working in a fast-paced and flexible athletic environment
- Playing and/or coaching experience at the high school or college level
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and summers as assigned by the AD

Salary Range:
