Job Title: Director of Finance 

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Position Overview:
The Director of Finance manages the school’s financial and physical resources, providing accounting, budgetary oversight, and process improvements. This role supervises the Accounts Specialist, works closely with external HR and benefits partners, and collaborates with faculty and staff. The position begins in November 2024.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (CPA a plus)
• 5-7 years of non-profit accounting experience (school setting preferred)
• Knowledge of investments, endowments, and GAAP reporting
• Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills
• High attention to detail, with an ability to prioritize and multitask
• Proficiency in MS Office, Google Docs, QuickBooks, and Veracross

Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounting operations, ensuring the integrity of the general ledger.
• Manage monthly payroll, tuition payments, and reconciliations
• Prepare financial statements and handle cash flow, forecasting, and audits
• Support fundraising activities and ensure compliance with accounting standards
• Collaborate with the CFO on investment tracking and endowment management
• Ensure integration across software systems
• Maintain internal controls and review contracts as needed
• Assist with budget performance reporting and fixed asset management
• Back up accounts payable and assist with federal filings and compliance
