Job Summary: 

BB&N is seeking a full-time Upper School Nurse. The Nurse is responsible for the implementation and management of BB&N’s coordinated school health program which is consistent with BB&N’s philosophy, goals, and objectives as well as consistent with the Massachusetts guidelines and regulations governing school health and nursing. The Nurse will provide quality care as part of an all-school team including collaboration with the Lead Nurse, campus nurses, and substitute nurses.

In addition, the Nurse will demonstrate the following skills and competencies:

  • Developing and maintaining trusting relationships with students and families

  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with faculty and administration

  • Understanding of child development

  • Commitment to working in and fostering an inclusive community

  • Knowledge and commitment around diversity, equity, and inclusion practices

  • Knowledge of and ability to work effectively with cross-cultural populations

  • Self-starter – working independently without day-to-day supervision

  • Ability to facilitate Crisis intervention

  • Maintaining confidentiality; using discretion

  • Support of the institution’s mission

  • Provide healthcare to meet the individual needs of  students

  • Ensures compliance with state-mandated programs

  • Understand and exhibit high standards of professional conduct

Skills and Competencies:

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three years of experience. They must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

In addition, the candidate must have:

  • Experience in both children and adult illness/injury care

  • Experience working with children and young adults

  • Ability to originate, update, and/or monitor health care, maintain records, and implement the coordinated school health program and Standing Orders

  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications: including willingness to complete CPR Trainer certification

  • Desire to work in a school community

  • Ability and experience in supervising children

Salary: $82,000.00 – $88,000.00

Compensation for full-time employees includes a 403(b) plan with up to a 10% match of salary and other competitive benefits offerings. Benefits offered to eligible employees include health & dental insurance; commuter benefits; long-term disability insurance, and more.
