
Supervisor of Transition Services

Learning Prep School in Newton, MA is seeking a Supervisor of Transition Services to lead our growing Transition Department beginning in August at the start of the 2025 – 2026 school year.
This is an exciting leadership opportunity to be part of a dedicated team helping students with language-based learning disabilities prepare for life after high school. The Supervisor of Transition Services oversees all aspects of the transition program, including the 18–22 program, career readiness curriculum, post-secondary planning, and experiential learning placements in the community.
The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, a passion for supporting students in their journey toward independence, and the ability to foster strong partnerships with families, staff, and external organizations.

LPS serves students with complex profiles whose primary area of need is a language-based learning disability. While not a therapeutic setting, our comprehensive program includes speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, and counseling services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate Transition Department staff and job coaches
- Oversee the design and implementation of the school’s 18–22 program
- Coordinate individualized student transition plans and job site placements
- Support students and families in college, career, and life-readiness exploration
- Lead department meetings and maintain a positive, collaborative team culture
- Collaborate with external agencies, community partners, and post-secondary programs
- Attend IEP meetings for transition-aged students (11th–12th grade)
- Organize and facilitate transition-focused events (e.g., job fairs, info nights)
- Transport students to job sites as needed (school van provided)

This is a full time school-year based position with some summer responsibilities: Monday – Friday 7:30am-3:15pm, with some after-school meeting days until 4pm.
