Science Teaching Fellow (One-Year Position)
Founded in 1866, Noble and Greenough School is an academic community dedicated to student growth and self-discovery. Nobles inspires students to achieve their highest potential and to lead lives characterized by service to others. One of the school’s deepest values is “relationship before task”—a belief that excellence is built on community and connection. Nobles is committed to creating a learning environment that represents diversity of race, gender identities, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, national origin, background, experience, and perspective. Doing so is intrinsic to our mission and improves the educational experience for all.
Nobles seeks an enthusiastic science (biology) teaching fellow for a full-time, one-year position to begin in late August 2025. No prior teaching experience is required to be considered for this position, but a strong background in science and demonstrated interest in working with young people are essential. Candidates should be adept at communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
The science teaching fellow will teach and/or support two sections of science with the guidance of a lead teacher. They will also observe classes in the department and provide class coverage as needed. Additionally, Nobles looks for multifaceted educators eager to contribute significantly to the life of the school in at least one non-academic area (e.g., athletics, community service, admissions, or performing arts) outside of their teaching. The science teaching fellow will contribute to the afternoon program each season (fall, winter, and spring). Experience playing high school and/or college athletics is a plus.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field
- Personal qualities of resilience, approachability, and kindness
Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. To apply, please complete the online application and upload a resume with a cover letter addressed to Alison Easterling, Head of Upper School (alison_easterling@nobles.edu).
