Description: Harborlight seeks Montessori Teachers for our Children’s House level (PK-Kindergarten). Co-Teacher and Assistant Teacher positions are both available.

Skills and Qualifications:

Working at Harborlight

• be knowledgeable of the philosophy of Montessori education

• demonstrate strong cultural awareness and responsiveness, as well as experience supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
• Priority will be given to candidates with qualifications including: 
  • Montessori Credential (3-6) AMI, AMS, MACTE
  • Bachelor’s Degree or advanced degree preferred
  • MA EEC Teacher REQUIRED of all candidates

Teaching at Harborlight

• implement a developmentally appropriate Children’s House program for children Ages 3-6 in collaboration with a lead or co- teacher
• have enthusiasm, flexibility, and a desire to collaborate with colleagues both on your team and across different classrooms
• exhibit excellent communication with families to provide timely and appropriate feedback regarding student progress
• possess a growth mindset when it comes to engaging with relevant and mission-driven professional learning

Responsibilities at Harborlight

• performing various duties, including classroom coverage, lunch duty etc.
• maintain aesthetically pleasing classroom space and common areas
• attending faculty and team meetings where appropriate
• participating in admissions programming as needed
• and other duties as assigned

Harborlight Montessori: Harborlight is a co-educational independent day school currently enrolling 285 students from infant through grade eight. Serving Beverly and its surrounding towns since 1973, Harborlight is a leader in Montessori education and the lab school for Montessori Institute – New England, a Montessori teacher education program.
