RHCD students build competencies in thinking critically, navigating the world ethically, and communicating intentionally to discover their full selves and use their wisdom for good. We are seeking a music teacher who brings joy, creativity, and energy to their work with young learners and who has the experience and passion to build and implement a dynamic, developmentally appropriate music curriculum. The ideal candidate will:
- be excited and engaged in the classroom, and truly enjoy working with elementary-aged children
- understand how to incorporate instruments such as ukuleles, recorders, rhythm sticks, and Orff instruments into hands-on, active music-making
- foster a deep love of music through singing, movement, listening, improvisation, and creative exploration
- have experience leading an elementary vocal ensemble
- plan, rehearse, and direct students in at least two school performances annually.,
- attend music-related field trips
- be confident, flexible, and ready to join a collaborative school environment
- open to working with a diverse range of learners and musical experiences, and ideally has experience with diverse learning styles
- strong in classroom management skills
- have piano accompaniment skills, but not required

Qualifications and requirements include
