Position Summary:

The Nursery-12th grade Librarian is a dynamic, collaborative educator responsible for overseeing the school’s library programs, resources, and services across all divisions. This 10-month position supports student learning, research, and literacy development, fosters a culture of reading and curiosity, and partners with faculty to design learning experiences that promote information literacy and fluency, digital citizenship, and inquiry-based research. The ideal candidate is also skilled in developing accessible, engaging digital resources that empower students to navigate information independently and ethically. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Teaching & Instructional Support
    • Design and deliver engaging weekly library lessons for Preschool–5 students 
    • Support faculty across all divisions in embedding research skills, media literacy, and critical thinking into lessons and projects
  • Information & Digital Resource Development
    • Curate age-appropriate databases, citation tools, and research pathways and create accessible digital research guides (such as LibGuides) 
  • Program & Library Management
    • Manage physical and virtual library spaces, collections, and budget
    • Prepare and manage the annual budget for the library services in coordination with program and school goals.
  • Leadership and Innovation
    • Promote critical thinking, ethical information use, and digital literacy across all divisions
    • Support school-wide literacy initiatives and Equity and Belonging goals through curated programming and collections 

The candidate will possess the following:  

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of of various digital and new media technologies
  • Strong understanding of copyright, citations, and academic integrity
  • Commitment to ensure equitable access to high-quality, inclusive resources for all learners and to teach students how to navigate them

Education & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred in MLIS or MLS
  • Experience curating resources for faculty and students, teaching experience preferred
