POSITION SUMMARY:

Tilton School faculty design learning experiences that build the essential student skills and sensibilities they will need to be
life-ready. As such, we seek a compelling, passionate, and visionary educator to teach four-five sections of History in our
Humanities Division. Humanities courses at Tilton center on critical thinking, reading, writing, and discussion skills.
Students emerge as critical and creative problem solvers, able to apply these human dimensions and dynamics to current
events. Empowered in this way, our students cultivate a nuanced, global, and well-informed world view. As a residential
school, Tilton considers the work of faculty broadly, and we engage with students both during and beyond the academic
day. Faculty at Tilton can expect to contribute two seasons in the co-curricular and/or athletic program and to be
responsible for weekly evening and monthly weekend supervisory duties. This position can include housing.

This position must be combined with coaching roles in varsity field hockey or varsity girls soccer in the fall and varsity
girls lacrosse in the spring.

  • Commit to self-reflection, work independently, and pursue professional growth and networking opportunities that will allow for full engagement in discovering and implementing best practices in this role.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

Preferred: Experience in residential oversight and/or secondary or post-secondary instruction.
