Xaverian is an independent Catholic school for boys in grades 7-12, sponsored by the Xaverian Brothers. Located in Westwood, Massachusetts, this college-prep school welcomes students from approximately 90 communities across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Xaverian was established in 1963 and presently enrolls over 990 students.
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:
Xaverian is seeking a long-term substitute teacher for high school Spanish who will provide full-time coverage for an employee on medical leave. This is a salaried position eligible for benefits. We anticipate needing this position filled until the end of the academic year in June 2025.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated content knowledge and pedagogic skill relative to teaching Spanish at the high school level; specifically, Spanish I and Spanish II.
- Proficiency in Spanish and English and a history of collaborating with other educators, as well as the ability to maintain and adapt existing curricula to meet the ever-changing needs of students.
- The ability to use a variety of teaching strategies, technologies, and assessment tools to focus on the skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
- A demonstrated passion for education.
- Proficiency utilizing the Google Suite (Google Classroom, Google Slides, Google Forms, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and an enthusiasm for the school’s mission as a Catholic and Xaverian Brothers Sponsored School.
