The role:
Tremont School is looking for a High School mathematics substitute teacher beginning in early December and continuing through mid-January.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction and student support for three courses and student support: Integrated Math, Pre-Calculus, Calculus and small group/1:1 independent study in math
- Co-advise a small group of high school students
- Provide supervision and support for students during assigned lunch, break and “Contract” time (study hall)
- While lesson plans and materials will be provided, the ideal candidate has broad capacity to guide and teach various math topics as part of a collaborative and supportive team.
Qualifications:
- An understanding of and commitment to Tremont School’s mission and vision
- Experience teaching adolescents, ideally those with a range of learning profiles
- Experience with high school mathematics instruction; thematic and integrated learning a plus
- An ability to discern students strengths and challenges; to build on strengths and to support challenges to help students advance their work
- Strong team player and collaborator
- Bachelor’s degree required, graduate degree a plus
- Salary and benefits commensurate with experience
