Job Summary:

Shore Country Day School is seeking a Head Coach for Boys Varsity Soccer (Grades 6-8). Shore coaches are expected to operate within the athletic philosophy of the school and adhere to Shore’s coaching guidelines.

Key Objectives: 

• Practice planning and game oversight,
• Mentoring and instructing middle school-age players in skill development, character development, and teamwork.
• Communicating with parents/caregivers relevant information regarding games, practices, and other team details
• Involvement in end-of-season activities including school assembly and player summaries

Skills and Competencies:

• Collaborative, energetic, organized, knowledgeable, and flexible
• Desire to work with Middle School students
• Commitment to working in and fostering an inclusive community
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with students, parents/caregivers, and colleagues

Coaching Schedule:

• Pre-season Coaches Meeting on Monday, August 26th
• The Fall Season runs from Tuesday, September 3, 2024, to Monday, November 25, 2024
• Practice sessions run 4 days per week:  2:45pm to 4:05pm – Monday through Thursday
• Games: This team will have 1 to 2 Games a week (only on weekdays) for a total of 10-12 games. Games usually start at 3:30.  For an away game, the coach might need to be on-site as early as 2:00pm. Home games end by 5pm while away games involve a later arrival back at school. 

Dates when school is not in session (no practices/games):

• Monday October 14
• Thursday October 24
• Monday, November 11
