Notre Dame Academy, Hingham, Massachusetts–an all-female college preparatory middle and high
school educating students in grades 7-12 is seeking a self-motivated and ambitious Executive
Director to lead the school’s growing development and alumnae relations operation. A member of
the senior leadership team and reporting directly to the President, the Executive Director will serve
as the lead fundraiser for the school.

Essential Responsibilities
● Develop and implement annual and long-range strategic goals, priorities, and initiatives to
successfully raise annual, capital, endowment, and planned gifts from a variety of constituencies
in support of the Academy’s overall mission and goals.
● Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of the school’s top donors and prospects capable of
making annual fund leadership and major gifts prospects and donors.
● Partner with the President, the Special Assistant, and the Board of Directors Partner in
developing an overall advancement strategy to promote the mission of the school and
communicate its value proposition.
● Oversee the Annual Fund, in partnership with the Advancement staff, to raise $1M annually.
● Partner with the President, CFO, and Special Assistant on the master planning process and
identify funding priorities in support of the school’s strategic plan.
● Develop and manage short- and long-term plans and budgets for the Advancement program
and its activities. Monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance.
● Oversee the hiring, management, and evaluation of all Advancement staff.
● Work with Advancement staff on the development of individual and departmental annual and
long-range goals and objectives.
● Collaborate with the marketing and communications team on advancement communications,
social media, and related marketing strategies.
● Work with the Chief Financial Officer on regular review of revenue generation from
philanthropy. Work with the Business Office to ensure the timely depositing, processing, and
acknowledgment of advancement gifts.
● Serve as liaison to the Advancement Committee of the Board of Directors and provide routine
updates and data driven reports.
● With the President and Advancement staff, develop and maintain an active portfolio of potential
Board of Director candidates.
● Partner with the Director of Annual Fund, and Director of Institutional Events, as well as school
leadership, to develop new and expand existing alumnae, parent, and past parent programs,
including affinity groups, speaker series, mentoring and internship programs.
● Develop and coordinate means to seek regular input from the key constituencies regarding the
quality of the educational and community experience.
Qualifications
● Passion for developing strong relationships with current and prospective donors
● Experience implementing, and evaluating systems and processes to ensure smooth and
successful fundraising and alumnae engagement operations.
● Flexibility and initiative, as well as the ability to work independently, combined with the
skills for thriving in a team environment.
● High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information.
● Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and
prioritization to meet deadlines.
● Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills; demonstrated personal solicitation experience.
● Strong computer skills and knowledge of database research and maintenance.
● Must be able to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed.
● 5+ years of frontline fundraising experience in an educational setting is preferred but not
required.
