Eagle Hill School, an independent boarding school in Hardwick, Massachusetts, seeks a teacher of English to join the faculty for the 2024-2025 school year. The successful candidate will hold a degree in English or education and demonstrate an innovative approach to curriculum design and instruction. At Eagle Hill School we believe in the inevitability of human diversity. We also believe that reading and writing are social processes. Eagle Hill School seeks educators who are eager to participate in the academic, athletic, and co-curricular activities of an innovative and engaging boarding school community.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching writing courses with focuses on process, multimodality, genre, and rhetorical analysis; teaching literature with a focus on literary analysis.
  • Incorporate technology and other resources to enhance student learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to continually revise and implement the curriculum to adjust to diverse learners.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues about student progress.
  • Engage in the boarding school community and co-curricular programs as well as provide inspirational and innovative education in the classroom setting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher).
  • Readiness to teach all levels of English.
  • Support students as they solve problems and think critically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Relevant experience preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
