Job Summary:

Mother Caroline Academy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary Math and Science Teacher who understands the developmental needs of young learners and is committed to closing opportunity gaps through rigorous instruction, joyful learning, and relationship-building. The ideal candidate will implement a scripted math curriculum with fidelity and design engaging, hands-on science instruction that sparks curiosity and critical thinking. They should also possess the skills and flexibility to modify and supplement curriculum materials to meet students’ individual learning needs.

The teacher will be responsible for delivering daily math and science lessons, using data to drive instructional decisions, and providing targeted small group instruction to ensure every student builds a strong foundation in both subjects. This educator will work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and the broader school community to create a dynamic learning environment that fosters curiosity, confidence, and academic achievement in math and science.

Qualifications & Experience

● Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Education or related field

preferred (or in progress).

● Preferred: Prior experience effectively teaching math and science at the

elementary level, with evidence of student learning outcomes.

● Demonstrated ability to implement and adapt a scripted or structured math

curriculum with fidelity and intentionality, and to design engaging, inquiry-based

science lessons.

● Experience modifying and supplementing curriculum materials to differentiate

instruction and meet diverse student needs across both content areas.

● Strong understanding of data-driven instruction, including analyzing assessment

results to inform planning and provide targeted support in math and science.

● Skilled in small group instruction and intervention strategies, particularly for

students performing below or above grade level.

● Comfortable using educational technology and digital tools to enhance instruction

and track student progress in both subjects.

● Experience in standards-based, backward planning, and designing performance

tasks that demonstrate conceptual understanding in math and science.

● Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a commitment to

partnering with families and staff.

● Previous experience in a mission-driven, entrepreneurial, or dynamic school

environment is a plus.

MCA School Hours: Daily 7:30 am-4:00 pm. Vacations and school closures generally

follow Boston Public Schools.
