
Dance Team Assistant Coach

Pingree is looking for an individual to fill the role of Dance Team Assistant Coach. The season runs approximately late August to mid-November.
We seek a passionate, self motivated dance coach with excellent communication skills. Practices are held in the afternoon, with occasional team activities on the weekend. This role is ideal for a candidate looking to gain valuable coaching experience as part of a growing Dance team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Attend weekly practices
- Assist in choreography throughout the season, and help with cleaning and running routines
- Encourages the development of sportsmanship and positive team culture
- Lead warm ups for team and record daily notes for team & attendance
- Assist with costuming as well as the Fall Dance Concert and events during the season including competition
- Support head coach with team logistics during practices, games, performances, and competitions
- Assist with team transportation (via Pingree Transportation Vans) for off campus events
Qualifications and skills required for coaching:
- Prior experience with dance team and choreography
- Passion for working with and developing high school student-athletes
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to working collegially in a diverse community and communicating effectively with a diverse population
- Must have valid driver’s license and successfully complete a criminal background check in order to work with minors
- Some evening and weekend hours are required
