Children’s House Co-Teacher (start January 2025)

Position: Children’s House Co-Teacher (‘24-’25 School Year)
Reports to: Children’s House Director and Head of School
Hours: Full-Time
Description: Harborlight seeks a Co-Teacher for our Children’s House level (PK-Kindergarten). You will work alongside another lead teacher to educate a room of roughly 15-20 students ages 3-6. This job starts immediately (January 2025).
Signing Bonus of $1,000 paid over first 4 months of employment (details discussed during interview process). Salary commensurate with credentials and experience (roughly 50-55k range); benefits include: ongoing professional development, health and dental insurance, paid time off, holidays and vacation time, and opportunities for career growth and advancement.

- be knowledgeable of the philosophy of Montessori education
- demonstrate strong cultural awareness and responsiveness, as well as experience supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
- Priority will be given to candidates with qualifications including:
- Montessori Credential (3-6) AMI, AMS, MACTE
- Bachelor’s Degree or advanced degree preferred
- MA EEC Teacher REQUIRED of all candidates
Teaching at Harborlight
- implement a developmentally appropriate Children’s House program for children Ages 3-6 in collaboration with a lead or co- teacher
- have enthusiasm, flexibility, and a desire to collaborate with colleagues both on your team and across different classrooms
- exhibit excellent communication with families to provide timely and appropriate feedback regarding student progress
- possess a growth mindset when it comes to engaging with relevant and mission-driven professional learning
Responsibilities at Harborlight
- performing various duties, including classroom coverage, lunch duty etc.
- maintain aesthetically pleasing classroom space and common areas
- attending faculty and team meetings where appropriate
- participating in admissions programming as needed
- and other duties as assigned
