Job Summary: 

BB&N is seeking a dedicated and adaptable person to join our team as the Associate Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Global Education (DEIG). Tasked with fostering a culture of inclusion, equity, and belonging within our school, this role encompasses a multifaceted approach, combining DEIG program management, service learning leadership, community engagement, and departmental coordination including administrative support.

The Associate Director of DEIG will work with various members of the BB&N community (specifically, DEIG Practitioners, the Director of Global Education, the Teaching and Learning Office, the Parent Engagement Liaison, Admissions, Alumni Engagement department, Faculty, Staff, and Students). This position will:

  • Partner with the DEIG Officer as a liaison between various departments to facilitate collaboration on DEIG-related projects and initiatives.

  • Provide high-level administrative support to the DEIG Officer, including managing schedules, coordinating meetings, handling correspondence, conducting research, and gathering data to support decision-making and strategic planning efforts.

  • Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and communications materials related to DEIG initiatives and progress.

  • Support DEIG office program operations and budget

  • Develop and distribute the DEIG newsletter to keep BB&N Community members informed about recent and upcoming events, initiatives, and resources related to DEIG.

  • Collaborate with the communications team to ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all DEIG communication channels.

  • Serve on hiring committees as a DEIG representative.

  • Collaborate with DEIG Practitioners and the Director of Global Education to develop and secure community-based, experiential learning and DEIG immersion opportunities for B-12 students. This might include, trips, internships, student shadowing, outdoor classrooms, student exchanges, etc.

  • Collaboratively (Matrix) manage B-12 service-learning coordinators on each academic campus.

  • Lead and enhance BB&N’s DEIG framework for community service and service learning.

  • Plan and coordinate schoolwide community service events, volunteer opportunities, and outreach programs to foster positive relationships.

  • Cultivate relationships with community-based organizations, schools, and other organizations to enhance BB&N’’s community engagement and social impact initiatives.

  • Coordinate community events related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and global education.

This role is designed to have a presence and impact across all of BB&N’s campuses and will catalyze community connection. This role is highly collaborative and is dually adult and student-facing. The person in this role will become effective and efficient at leveraging current relationships, systems, resources, and building new processes.

  • Previous experience (3+ years) in diversity, equity, inclusion, community engagement, or related fields

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels

  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice, equity, inclusion principles, and global competency

  • Fostered cultural competence and understanding

  • Robust partnership management experience

  • Experience participating in or leading service learning work

  • Strong listening skills and the ability to communicate clearly

  • Experience with public speaking; strong communication

  • Effective relationship builder, preferably with local, regional, and national connections

  • Passion for community-based development and social justice

  • Demonstrated ability to organize, plan, and execute results

  • Strong proficiency in G Suite, Excel, and other database programs (preferably Veracross, Adobe Programs, Canvas)

  • Discretion working with confidential and sensitive information;

  • Work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.

  • Fluency or working knowledge of a language in addition to English is a plus

Salary: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00
