Associate Director of Development
The Cambridge-Ellis School is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Associate Director of Development. The ideal candidate is passionate about our school’s mission and values, can build strong relationships with current and potential community members and donors, and has experience in overseeing development work for small organizations.
Leadership and School Duties:
- Work with leadership and volunteers to raise funds via Annual Fund and Spring Community Celebration and Auction to support school sustainability
- Overseeing and facilitating various school events, such as the Spring Community Celebration and Auction
- Working collaboratively with Parent and Caregiver volunteers, particularly the Chairs of the Development and Auction Committee
- Maintaining alumni and other donor relations through various events and communications
- Establishing connections and partnerships with local businesses and organizations
Goals of Position:
- Evolve and grow the school’s development strategy to align with community goals and best practices
- Work with the Executive Director, Development Committee, and other community members to outline a future capital campaign
- Work with the Board of Trustees to increase community engagement and outreach
- Establish the Friends of Cambridge-Ellis Newsletter to strengthen alumni connections
- Support the school’s social media and communications outreach as it pertains to development efforts
Staff Hours:
- School Year Position, Summer 2025 Start Date
- 30 hours per week, Option for mix of in person and remote work
- Weekly Virtual Staff Meetings on Mondays, 7:00-8:00pm
- Required and Optional Events as listed in the Employee Handbook
- 2 Personal Days, 8 Sick Days
Supervision
- The Associate Director of Development reports to the Executive Director
Compensation
- Starting Salary
- $80,000-90,000

Professional Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related field
- A minimum of five years of experience working in development at an educational and/or non-profit organization
- Experience managing or working actively on a capital campaign
- Proficiency in G-Suite and strong familiarity with Apple computers and applications
- Familiarity with Instagram and other social media platforms
- Experience with development platforms preferred, such as Blackbaud and eTapestry
