Reports to: Director of Lower School Admissions

Job Summary: 

BB&N is seeking a full-time ten-month Admissions Assistant to join the admissions team beginning in August 2024. The Admissions Assistant provides administrative support for the Lower School admissions office and its outreach and recruitment efforts. This is a critical role, in part, because the Admissions Assistant is often the first point of contact for families inquiring about the admissions process. This role comprises three major areas: administrative support, information management, and event coordination.

Skills and Competencies:

The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of general administrative/admissions experience and an understanding of the function of enrollment at educational institutions, preferably independent schools. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

In addition, the Admissions Assistant will demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Experience working in a fast paced environment, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills

  • Working knowledge of and experience with the Microsoft suite of products, databases, data entry, and management of data; experience with Veracross/Axiom preferred

  • Ability to handle a high volume of communications and tasks

  • Ability to juggle several projects/responsibilities simultaneously and meet expected deadlines

  • Strong customer service orientation toward several constituencies (i.e. applicant families, current parents, faculty/staff, etc.)

  • Event planning and event management experience

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Good written and oral communication

  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends

Salary: $30.00 – $32.00 per hour
