Deepening Equity Impact through Transformative Teaching & Leadership
Presented by Marceline DuBose and Paul Gorski of Equity Literacy Institute.
Delve into practical strategies and insights for driving meaningful equity initiatives within school communities through the use of case studies. Whether you’re a seasoned leader or just starting your equity journey, this workshop will equip you with the tools and knowledge to create a lasting impact and foster inclusive environments for all.
We will refer to the book Case Studies on Diversity and Social Justice Education by Paul Gorski and Seema Pothini (not a prerequisite for the workshop). The studies in the book offer pre- and in-service educators the opportunity to analyze and reflect upon a variety of real-life scenarios related to educational equity and social justice. The case studies allow educators to consider a range of contextual factors, check their own biases, and make immediate and longer-term decisions about how to create and sustain equitable learning environments.
Come away with:
- Practical strategies for crafting equity initiatives
- Analytical skills for evaluating educational equity
- Leadership tools for creating a lasting impact
- Real world case studies of equitable learning environments
This program is designed for all adults in the school community, including teachers and academic leaders, DEI Practitioners, and school leadership.
