Upper Elementary Writing Tutor

Brimmer and May is looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and experienced Upper Elementary Writing Tutor to join our team. This role involves working with students in grades 3-5, providing individualized academic support for 2-4 days per week between the hours of 3:00–5:30 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one writing instruction to students with diverse learning profiles, focusing on a range of genres including narrative, persuasive, and expository/informational writing.
Implement a Writing Process framework to help students organize and develop their ideas effectively.
Utilize instructional approaches such as Brain Frames, EmPOWER, or Project Read: Framing Your Thoughts to assist students with sentence crafting, idea expansion, and organization.
Teach and model executive functioning skills, helping students improve planning, organization, and time management in relation to writing and projects.
Qualifications:
Experience providing systematic and direct writing instruction in an educational setting.
Familiarity with the aforementioned writing programs/approaches is highly preferred.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to engage with students of varying abilities.
A degree in education, or special education, is strongly preferred.
