Brook Farm at BCD

Brook Farm at BCD offers a preschool for children two years to four years of age that is based in the Reggio Emilia pedagogy and rooted in the natural environment that surrounds our campus. Preschool students move from home-based classroom environments to outdoor experiential learning on a daily basis. Reggio Emilia is not a method but rather a philosophical ideal and approach to teaching.

Inside and outdoors, Brook Farm Preschool offers a unique program based in a beautiful setting on the campus of BCD. Our secure and gated campus contains 26 acres of trails, fields, streams, and a pond for exploration. Every day, our Brook Farm students may play in multiple outdoor playground areas or have guided explorations of our beautiful campus.

Brook Farm Preschool teachers have an 11-month teaching schedule. Parents may choose from two calendars: 1) an approximately 11 month calendar that runs throughout the year except for the month of August when Brook Farm is closed for campus maintenance 2) an approximately  9.5 month calendar that runs parallel to the BCD calendar, which is convenient for BCD families or families who have other summer plans.
