The Advent School seeks a Physical Education teacher who brings intelligence, creativity, and knowledge of movement education to the school community. 

Responsibilities & Duties

Physical Education teachers at Advent teach in both our school’s movement space and in The Boston Common. For the leave position, the Physical Education teacher will help design and lead lessons interweaving principles of movement and social-emotional learning. They will be an active facilitator as students explore units, such as physical fitness, kicking, throwing, and gameplay.

Professional Development is the cornerstone of maintaining the highest standards of education that we provide at The Advent School. In that regard, each teacher is expected to engage in professional dialogue as a teacher/learner and researcher.

Required Skills & Characteristics

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the Reggio Emilia approach and previous experience co-teaching and differentiating instruction, in addition to being:

• A strong writer, comfortable communicating with families and colleagues

The ideal candidate will have experience in movement education, in addition to a BA or BS degree. 

The Advent School provides salary commensurate with experience.
