Position Summary
Bancroft School seeks a part-time Upper School (grades 9-12) World Language Teacher to join our talented team of educators beginning August, 2024. This position will teach 2-3 sections of Latin in the Upper School. The best candidates will demonstrate an ability to successfully collaborate with colleagues across disciplines and be an integral member of the school’s World Language Department. They must also believe in every student’s capacity for learning and critical thinking, especially regarding inquiry and challenge. The candidate must also be able to effectively collaborate and coordinate communications with students, parents, staff, and other school community members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Classical Languages or related education field (Master’s preferred)
  • Three to five years teaching experience preferred
  • Experience in and enthusiasm for implementing inquiry-based learning
  • Proven ability to differentiate instruction
  • Experience in and enthusiasm for proficiency-based, acquisition-driven world language instruction
  • Familiarity with best practices for equitable teaching and learning environments
