Part-Time, Short-Term Science Teacher for Summer 2024

Faculty / Seasonal

Commonwealth School, Boston, MA

Dive In Commonwealth is a free summer and school-year program for high-achieving middle-school students from low-income communities across the greater Boston area. Starting the summer after sixth or seventh grade and lasting until the fall of their freshman year, Dive In students engage in rigorous classes and exciting extracurriculars, preparing them for private schools and the path to college. Like our parent school, Commonwealth School, Dive In empowers motivated students by offering enriching activities in a close-knit community of like-minded peers. Our unique urban campus is located in the heart of Boston’s historic Back Bay, easily accessible by public transportation.

Dive In Commonwealth seeks a Science Teacher for the summer of 2024. The teacher will work with a small group of middle-school students to advance their practical knowledge of science, nurture their innate curiosity, cultivate their intellectual confidence, and strengthen general learning skills in the classroom and beyond. Dive In welcomes teaching applicants from both public and private schools as well as from local community centers; our hiring is informed by our mission to close achievement gaps across educational institutions and build bridges to historically neglected neighborhoods.
