Dublin School, an intentionally small 9-12 all-gender college preparatory boarding and day school located in beautiful, rural southwestern NH, seeks an English Teacher beginning August 2024. Our mission calls us to inspire curiosity and a passion for learning, to value and build every student’s unique potential through meaningful work, to help develop the discipline to face challenges, and to work for the good of the wider communities to which we belong. Successful candidates will have a background in teaching English and writing and/or a degree in English Literature, English Language and Composition, American Studies, or a closely related field. We seek someone energized at the prospect of building a curriculum, collaborating in a close-knit department, and excited to work with students as they learn to embrace reading and writing as a unified craft, a process of engagement, expression, and revision.

Previous experience in a boarding school environment is not a requirement.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Teaching four sections of English courses
  • Leading two seasons of athletics/afternoon activities, which may include:
    • Soccer, Basketball, Snowboarding, Alpine skiing, Nordic Skiing, Crew, Lacrosse, Tennis
  • Collaborating with the English department and other colleagues to create a dynamic curriculum that is student-centered
  • Co-leading a January Term course
  • Participation in residential life and advising
  • Contribute positively to school culture
