Qualifications:

∙ Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree; social services, education or a related field preferred

Job Goal: To provide counsel, consultation or information related to student’s academic and post high school planning. Recruit international students to WSG, oversee homestay program and the I-20 process.

Responsibilities:

  1. Implement the program core values and mandated programs.
  2. Provide informational services to students and parents that will assist them in educational, vocational and personal decision making; including potential post-secondary options. (This includes organizing and facilitating evening information sessions.)
  3. Schedule individual post high school planning meetings as often as needed.
  4. Demonstrate sensitivity to the culture and values of the student and family.
  5. Provide administrative support, resources and time to foster collaboration among team members.
  6. Foster independence through increased responsibility and opportunity for self-management.
  7. Encourage the student to develop extra-curricular interests and to participate in community activities.
  8. Help the student develop the most appropriate post high school plan
  9. Promote the student’s self-esteem and self-confidence.
  10. Inform the student and parent(s) about admission requirements and demands of diverse post-secondary settings.
  11. Ensure the timely development of documentation and materials in keeping with application timelines.
  12. Help the student and parent(s) select and apply to post-secondary institutions with competitive curriculums.
  13. Establish goals to continue professional growth and development.
  14. Attend weekly staff meetings, in-service training, parent meetings, student-centered staff meetings.
  15. Maintain a respectful, positive, pro-active professional attitude.
  16. Develop an ongoing, problem-solving relationship with supervisor, seeking guidance as necessary.
  17. Coordinate school newsletters to the Woodward Community.
  18. Oversee and coordinate the recruitment of international students in collaboration with Director of Enrollment.
  19. Facilitate the I-20 process for international students by coordinating with SEVIS.
  20. Collaborate with Head of School on International Student Marketing.
