Co-Teacher Researcher

Charlestown Nursery School seeks teacher-researchers to join our team of professional educators for the 2024-2025 school year. Positions vary from 2-5 days/week in mixed age classes of either 20 month-3 year olds and 3-5 year olds. Classes meet 8-12, and teachers collaborate early morning before school and until 3:00 each day. We spend an hour in research and development for every hour that we teach.
CNS is a progressive urban cooperative school for 1-5 year olds in Charlestown, MA. We are inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, Complementary Curriculum, and incorporate many innovative best practices.
Ideal Candidates:
o Have a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and MA DEEC Lead Teacher Certification
o Share our mission and commitment to teacher learning and professional growth
o Have experience working in a Reggio Emilia inspired setting and be dedicated to inquiry-based emergent curriculum, documentation, the environment as the third teacher, the value of outdoor education, the co-teaching model, and ongoing professional development
o Possess solid knowledge of child development and understand the value of integrating the science of literacy, math, science, social studies, and the arts in a play-based setting, strongly committed to socio-emotional development and anti-bias education
o Are professional, respectful, warm, engaging, motivated, and flexible team-players who celebrate strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues in a school community that encourages collaboration and partnerships
