Notre Dame Academy, Hingham, Massachusetts is an all-female college preparatory middle and high school educating students in grades 7-12, is seeking a full-time Music Teacher with high energy, a creative spirit, and a passion for empowering young women. Under the supervision of the Principal, this position involves teaching High school Concert/Chamber Choir, Jazz vocal ensemble, faculty – students chorale, as well as Music Theory and AP Music Theory classes. The successful candidate will be an excellent music educator who is energetic, organized, hard-working, and motivated to maintain and improve this very successful program. Soprano/mezzo-soprano or alto candidates preferred; all voice types considered.

Components of Responsibilities

· Teach choral classes in the High School and middle School. Courses include Middle School Art of Singing Ensemble, School Mass Cantors, School Mass Sacred Ensemble, Music Theory and AP Music Theory

· Direct the Concert/Chamber Choir and Jazz Vocal Ensemble

· Apply a large knowledge of a wide range of choral repertoire and vocal technique that are appropriate for the ages and skill levels of students

· Training individual students in preparation for Eastern District and All State festivals

· Organize performances and concerts on and off campus

· Create and maintain a curriculum for choir ensembles and classes based on MA music education standards.

· Collaborate with the Performing Arts Department Chair

Job Requirements

· Master’s Degree in Music Education.

· 5+ years of successful experience as a choral director preferred.
