Job Description for Chemistry/ AP Biology Teacher

Gould Academy is seeking a student-centered and innovative Chemistry/ AP Biology teacher to join our team and take advantage of our unique mountain location. This position includes teaching 4 sections of Chemistry, with the potential to teach AP Bio and/or Life Science electives. 

In addition to teaching responsibilities, teachers assist or lead two co-curricular seasons, advise 4-6 students and support residential duties as part of our community-focused approach to education.

Requirements

• Experience teaching Chemistry preferred but not required 
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in content area preferred
• Commitment to a student-centered, experiential, process-based pedagogy
• Obtain CHRC certification from the Maine Department of Education
• Possess a valid driver’s license

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, school  year, exempt position beginning August 19, 2024.
