Wellness Program Manager

Groton School, Groton, MA
Groton School is seeking a Wellness Program Manager to support the work of the Department of Counseling and Psychological Services, which provides mental health support and education to students. Reporting to the Director of Wellness Programming and Training, this is a 10-month per year (early September to mid-June, excluding student breaks) exempt, salaried, staff position with benefits.
Responsibilities and Duties
The Wellness Program Manager will be expected to:
- Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate, and prevention-oriented social-emotional curriculum
- Deliver high-quality and engaging content to students on topics such as mental health, sexual health, healthy relationships, and other areas of social-emotional learning
- Focus on topics prioritized by Groton School including sleep, body image, belonging, connection, and coping mechanisms
- Create student wellness initiatives focusing on stress reduction and community building
- Conduct needs assessments on health promotion topics
- Analyze data to help determine priorities
- Develop and implement trainings and outreach efforts around topics of community relevance
- Train and supervise student Peer counselors
- Advise student affinity groups
- Develop and run social/emotional support groups and psychoeducational groups for students
- Act as a visible member of the school community, attending student games/performances and other events as they arise
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree (required)
- A Master’s degree in Health Education, Public Health, Social Work, or a related field (preferred)
- Previous experience teaching health and social emotional learning, ideally to adolescents
- Demonstrated experience with implementation and evaluation of Health curriculum, including sexual health, substance abuse, and other mental health/wellness related issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work within teams across departments
- Experience working with and creating content that will engage a diverse community
- A desire to be an active member of the school community
