Position: Varsity Softball Assistant Coach
Location: Newton Country Day School, Newton, MA
Season: Spring 2026 (early March to mid May)
Stipend: $3,000-$4,000

Position Summary
Newton Country Day School seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Varsity Softball Assistant Coach to support the program during the spring 2026 season. The coach will assist in planning and leading practices, fostering player development, and helping build a competitive, mission-aligned team culture that reflects the values of Sacred Heart education and Falcon Athletics.

Position Requirements:

• Support the Head Coach in all aspects of varsity softball practices, games, and team operations.

• Emphasize skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship while nurturing players’ courage, confidence, and love of the game.

• Mentor student-athletes of varying ability levels, providing both technical instruction and positive leadership.

• Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, and the Athletics Department.

• Demonstrate a willingness and ability to drive school vehicles for practices and competitions.

• Uphold and model the values of Sacred Heart education and the mission of Falcon Athletics, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all athletes.Complete other related duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience playing or coaching softball (high school or collegiate level preferred).

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• CPR/First Aid and SafeSport certifications (or willingness to complete prior to the season).

• CORI background check and fingerprinting required.
